Marci Lerman Serota, RD, CNSD, LDN
arci is a Registered Dietitian, Licensed Dietitian-Nutritionist, and Certified Nutrition Support Dietitian. Marci earned her Bachelor of Science in Food Science and Human Nutrition at the University of Florida and completed her training at Brigham and Women's Hospital (an affiliate of Harvard Medical School) and Children's Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. For five years Marci provided medical nutrition therapy in all areas of nutrition, including cardiovascular surgery, oncology, general medicine and surgery, surgical oncology, trauma, and intensive care at Bellevue Hospital Center in New York City.
Marci joined Renaissance Nutrition Center, Inc. in 2004, and now focuses her private practice on gastrointestinal disease and complications of gastrointestinal surgery, cardiovascular health, pediatric obesity, and failure to thrive related to malignancy, cancer treatment, or disease. Marci believes strongly in involving the entire family in the prevention and management of pediatric obesity, helping clients develop habits and behaviors that lead to and support long-term success.
Marci considers nutrition to be a key factor in attaining a successful response to cancer treatment and gastrointestinal surgery and believes that understanding and implementing appropriate nutritional therapy can greatly enhance quality of life for those living with gastrointestinal disease.
Marci is a member of the American Dietetic Association, the Pennsylvania Dietetic Association, the Philadelphia Dietetic Association, the Nutrition Entrepreneurs Dietetic Practice Group, the Pediatric Nutrition Dietetic Practice Group, the Diabetes Care and Education Dietetic Practice Group, and the Women's Health and Reproductive Health Dietetic Practice Group.
